Well

Well it was great talking to you all. 

Cant believe how fast this time is going.  I shall miss the mission a lot but I am excited 
to see you all.  I must say this week shall go by fast.  I washed all my cloths this morning
and put the things I shall not use in the old suitcase of Hermana Yardley.  Today I have to 
finish buying my things and getting everything worked out.  I need to say my goodbyes this
week.  Shouldn't be to hard since I have only had two areas in Cocha and I work in them every 
day.  I just wish I could go to Potosi and Tupiza to say goodbye to everyone.  Well truth be told
I don't have much more to write.  Have a great week and I shall see you all next.

Family,

 Lets see my comp is great.  Very sarcastic which is a good thing.  She has been a member 7 years.  She was the only member until Feb which is when her dad got baptized.  She has 6 people in her family.  I did not speak in Church yesterday but the Bishop asked us to speak this Sunday.  We also went to talk to him on Friday and we asked if there was anything we could do to help him and he gave us a list of people to visit.  He also said that he wanted an activity for theObra Misional I dont remember how to say that in English.  We came up with a movie and we will be watching 17 miracles this Friday. Our poster board is great but he also said that we need to do something else also.  They called new ward missionaries so we shall use them to our advantage.  They don't really know what to do so that means that we are having a training for them.  We will be teaching the lessons that we teach so that they can go out and help with the less actives and new members.  Well lets see with the travels they stunk a lot.  I threw up 5 times in the bus.  The trip started off fine and I even fell asleep then I woke up and was listening to the conversation of the Elders in front of me ( I now know a lot about the mission because the Elders here gossip a lot).  Then I felt the feeling come that I was going to throw up.  I asked them for a bag and there went my food (I think because I couldn't see it was dark).  Then I just talked to them a little bit more sat back in my chair and once again the feeling came.  I asked for another bag (because I threw the other one out the window).  Then something else came up.  5 min later we came to the rest stop I got out and I was still feeling fine just throwing up.  Got back on the bus to go and about 15 min into the ride I got out my own bag and then came up more.  I wont keep going because you know what happened next.  Then I finally fell asleep.  I don't know why I was throwing up I wasn't car sick and my stomach didn't hurt at all.  One of the Elders, Elder Huber just kept asking me a bunch of questions and then he came to the conclusion that it was a Spider bite because I wasn't hurting anywhere. Who knows it could have been a spider bite.  Lets see Cochabamba is good its weird being so close to my first area.  A lot of things have changed since a year.  This week has been hard I can tell my comp never made the decisions before because she seems a little lost but I just tell her she can do it and we keep going.  I just asked her what house we are going to knock on and she looks at me like I am crazy but I wait for her to tell me where and when.  This transfer will be good.  There is something that I need to learn here in the next weeks, I am excited to learn and to find out what it is.  Last night my comp and I invited theHermanas who we live with to come to our room and have a party with us since we get to the house early on Sundays.  We cooked Hamburgers and had snacks.  We got to know one another during this time.  The only bad thing is that one of the sisters is new and she is now sick.  We don't know if it was from the Hamburgers or from the food she ate earlier in the day.  I just hope that it is the food from earlier.  Well there isn't much that I can write or say but I love you all and remember that the Church is TRUE

Hello

Hello hello hello hello I welcome you today hello,
I shall be coming home with a great friend whose name is the great and
fabulous Hermana Morlock.  We are the only two North Americans coming
home.  I received an email asking for mission pictures to put in a DVD
for the missionaries going home.  I told them I don't have any pictures
and I sent them all home (Well I have a CD of pictures and pics from
Tupiza on my camera).  I told them don't put me in the video and that
will be fine.  They don't seem to like that answer but if I don't do it
they cant put me in it.  I thought they made the flight plans already
but I guess not.  I probably wont know what will happen until the last
minute.  Oh and I found out what happened to the girls who went home
last transfer.  They were only allowed to bring home one suitcase and
a two carry ons.  What do you want me to do if that happens to me?  If
I bring the two that I have they charge about 70 dollars to get it
from Coch to Santa Cruz.  The Hermana Yardley just left her other
suitcase here.  I don't know what you want to do if this happens but
just let me know what you think.  What Hermana Bailey said is that
they called to tell Yardley that 2 weeks before she left.  We had an
earthquake here.  As you can tell it wasn't bad or maybe I wouldn't be
writing you today.  The Hermana Yupanqui was sick and was in the
bedroom and Hermana Bailey and I were in the kitchen talking and we
heard what was like someone on the roof and then the things just
started shaking.   I must say all of those earthquake drills in school
paid off I just started looking for a table or to go in the door way.
Just when I had that thought and was ready to put it in action it
stopped.  It was really interesting.  First time in my life that has
happened.  It works to because now when we do door contacting we just
start a conversation about the earthquake because it is all they talk
about now.  They are all worried that it will come back but worse.  I
don't know what to think.   Well life is good it is really hard being
in a trio and working in two areas.  one day we are working in Alamos
and the other in Floresta.  We are trying to work that if an
investigator is really progressing than it doesnt matter on whose day
it was we would go and meet with them.  This also means that we are in
the church at 7:45 in the morning until 1 in the afternoon.  It makes
a long day, but we make sure to buy snacks to eat until lunch.  We are
planning to go on splits this week with our ward missionaries that way
we can work double in the areas.  We shall see how it goes.  This week
we met really great people who now have hope in their lives.  Its
great to see the things this great gospel does for the lives of other.
 Oh and I also found out my first born in Bolivia Hermana Nevarez is
coming back to Cochabamba this week.  She was in my old area in Potosi
but it turns out she got really sick.  When I mean really sick I mean
really really really sick.  She got Hepatitis A and B, and she also
has Thyphod fever.  The fever isn't that bad or they would have sent
her home.  She called me from Potosi to say she was coming and I
should visit her today.  Poor girl, I am just glad it wasn't me.  Well
I love you all and have a great week. Keep serving because just like
dad said we have been given much.  I love you all

Big news

Loved ones,

I guess I can start with the big news…….. I am gone.  I have a transfer.  I wont lie it stinks but that is how life goes.  I will be going to Cochabamba area Floresta.  If you are wondering I shall be living in the exact same house that I started my mission out in.  Yep I am going back to Zona Alamos.  It shall be good.  I will attend the same church building but a different ward.  My companion is Hermana Yupanqui she is from Beni Bolivia.  That will be cool I can have another place to visit in Bolivia after the mission and I hear that they eat monkeys there.  I shall ask her when I see her.  Although I am terribly sad I know that the Lord needs me there right now, there is someone waiting for me in that area or I just need to learn a little bit more from Hermana Yupanqui.  This week was really great to.  Hermana Sandra and her husband came to church.  We had an appointment with them tomorrow but we are leaving today for Cochabamba because Hermana Mercado is going to train.  I am way excited for them I just saw them sitting in Church with there little girl and I could just see them going to the temple.  They will be a great members.  We also met other great people in the area this week and that is why I am sad to go and not be in an area for the baptisms again but I shall not think about it or I might just cry.  That is exciting about Lacie I think if it is a girl you should name her after me also Shay don't worry everything will be alright,  you are in my prayers.  I had a theory the other day.  You want to hear it?  Well you don't have an option.  So what I was thinking is that Hadlee is pregnant or already has had the baby because I remember when we wanted to surprise Chance we didn't tell him.  Oh and don't worry because I had a dream about Transfers and I told everyone how my dream went and how transfers would be and oh yes I was right.  I wont lie though the dream started off with Mom having a baby and ended with me in the mission traveling with a few Elders from this Zone.  So mom I don't think you would have another kid but woah if you adopted one at least tell me yea.  Of all the 8 missionaries here in Tupiza 5 of us are getting transfered.  Well I don't know really what else to write you all.  I am just sad, but I shall have a positive attitude.  I need to go home pack my cloths, print fotos and visit people before my bus leaves at 8.  That doesn't give me a heck of a lot of time, but hey it shall be my last ride on the costa de samon (road of repentance)  and no dad I have not taken pictures because it could distract the driver and I don't want to fall off the cliff.  Though we took a video the last time with the camera of one Elder so I shall have to see if I can get it copied.  Oh I gave some things of mine to my companion I hope you don't mind like a necklace, headband and my umbrella. She doesn't have an umbrella here and I am sorry but the umbrellas her stink they last about a week and then you have to buy a new one.  I figured I will be ok in Cocha.   Also I shall be throwing away most of my cloths in the coming weeks because I shall see you in 6 weeks.  Let me know though if it is ok that I throw the stuff away.  Remember the Church is true and the I love you

Hola buenos dias,

Lets see where to start where to start.  This week was great.  We worked hard though no one was home.  This week should be fun.  It is Semana Santa.  I was in Cochabamba the last time so I don't know how it will be here. I did listen to conference.  It was really really really really good.  There were a lot of great talks.  I am excited to come home and be able to read them over again.  I listened to 3 sessions in Spanish.  The Sat afternoon session Presidente Huarachi didn't come to turn the volume up so all you could see was the people.  The Elders from the states were watching it is English in the Relief Society room and when I saw Elder Holland come on I knew I had to hear this talk so I asked the ZLS if it would be alright if I could go watch it in English.  We found a member for my comp and I left to watch it in English.  I wasn't disappointed.  Then the Elders finally found Presidente Huarachi to come turn the volume up and he was in his house cutting wood.  They finally had volume after the talk.  We had 4 investigators come to listen. It was great.  Nothing to exciting happened this week.  We tried to meet with Hermana Sandras husband to talk about the Church and marriage but he got in an accident and was in the hospital. We invited Sandra to a baptism on Sat and she came.  She was asking about her baptism and how it would be.  We walked out with her when she was leaving and met her husband there.  He said he was sorry and that he could meet with us this week.  He then promised to come to church the next week.   We haven't had the opportunity to meet with Rosi and Jhonathan.  We went to their house but they weren't there.    Its getting a bit colder in the nights and the mornings.  The people here say that it is a lot colder during the winter. Transfersare this week and I am not going to lie I am a bit scared. I don't want to leave this transfer and finish my mission here but I believe I have a transfer. That stinks real bad I am not going to lie. Though I know that if the Lord wants me in a different place than that is where I am needed.  I just sure hope that place is here :).  Well this week wasn't too exciting so hopefully next week I will have more to share.  I love you all lots, remember the church is true!

I could have died!

Family,

This week was really interesting to say the least.  Tuesday was great we met great people and some old people, we were also told in District meeting that Hermana Mercado and I had to teach in the Conference on Thursday we thought great we have companionship study on Wed to plan the lesson.  Then came the Wed, we had to stop in the morning at the Elders house (all the Elders here live in the same house).  We found out then that there was a strike in Tupiza.  There were no cars leaving or coming into Tupiza so we had to be ready to leave by 1 to walk to Villazon to catch a bus to Tarija.  We ended up leaving at 2 and started walking through all the cars that were blocking the streets so no one could drive.  We got to the boarder line of Villazon and Tupiza and a member from Villazon was waiting for us to take us the rest of the way to villazon.  We got there about 4:30.  We then left for Tarija at 8.  This is the part where I could have died, because of the rains the mountain falls.  There is one part where there are rocks that are covering more than half the road.  As we were going around this part the front left tire slid off the road and you felt the whole bus start tipping just a bit.  I think I almost peed my pants and my heart came out of my chest.  There are definetly Angles watching out for us and your prayers sure help.  Then we got to Tarija about 3:30.  We then had a conference that was just special it started at 1 and ended at 6.  A bit to long if you ask me.  My comp and I had the best lesson.  We then were told that we had to be at the bus station at 7:30 to catch our bus.  We decided to go and eat dinner before we headed out, we had about a half hour.  We went to Crocan Pollo to eat because it is next to the bus station.  We were there sitting there eating and Elder Hurtler saw that a bus passed a Sama which we usually take and he said "Hey look there goes our bus" and us joking all turned to wave and were like ya by bus we will see you in Tupiza.  Well I think you can see where I am going with this.  We got to the bus station and started to go to the other bus Sama and when we talked about Tupiza to the helper he was like um I am sorry but this is going to villazon not to Tupiza.  Yep it was our bus that passed at 7:30.  So what happened is the ZLs heard wrong we needed to be there at 7 to leave at 7:30.  So we hopped in a Taxi to go find the bus because they called and said it would be waiting for us.  We got to the spot and there is no bus.  We are then told to wait for the bus that is going to Villzaon and we will ride with it until we go to the rest stop and we can get on our bus.  Well at 12 we finally caught up to our bus, and there were no people in it because it was raining so it makes the road a little bit more dangerous.  Oh it was an adventure.  Friday night we had an activity that the missionaries planned for the members.  We had 5 members that came and then after when we started playing vollyball a whole bunch of little kids saw and came and played.  I actually talked in church this last week.  He asked my comp and I to speak the Sat before.  That was a joyous thing.  Well not much exciting happened this week.  We are having great success and working really hard.  Hopefully we shall have a baptism next week but she isn't married and that is the kicker.  We are working hard with it and she knows that it is true.  We just need to get in agreement with her husband.  Well have a fantastic week, the church is true

Don't worry it's here

Family,

Well I shall tell you the news first since you are always asking........I got my trunky letter.  Yes that is right I got the letter that asks a bunch of questions of what is the name of my ward, stake, favorite scriptures etc etc.    It also says that my release date is May 23.  Don't worry about it, I will be home before you know it and you will all want me to leave the house.  They also ask for your email and phone number.  I am sure you will receive more information than I will.  So there is your info Dad.  Mik with the animals I don't know I haven't asked but on somethings that I have heard yes it is different animal sounds.  I forgot it was St Patricks day.  They do not celebrate that here but that does remind me of a holiday that is today.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................

 

                               HAPPY FATHERS DAY

 

That's right here in Bolivia it is Fathers day today.  So to my Father, Grandfather, Uncles, Brothers, Bother in-laws, Cousins.  Have a fantastic fathers day.   I will not lie it took 2 days for the soreness to go away after the last P-Day adventure.  I found a lot of scrapes on my body when I took a shower.  I sure wasn't the only one.  District Reunion was a blast.  Elder Cloward wanted us to get on our knees to pray and everyone had a really hard time because our legs were really sore.  We just got done with the activity today.  We climbed the cross.  It is a lot easier and a lot less time.  The only hard thing is, it has stairs.  I don't know how much a gallon of gas costs.  There is only one gas station here and I have only seen it when I travel.  The people here most of the time buy the things of gas like we take camping and use that on their cars.  There isn't too many cars here.  Everyone usually just walks because Tupiza is so small.   This week was really great.  The Hermana Sandra is in 2 Nephi.  She has a lot of questions and right now we are just praying that she will get married.  We talked to her about it but she says but I am so young.  Yes but you are living in sin.   No we didn't say that but we are working with her and she has come to church activities and really likes them.  We just need her to get married.  We are planning on talking to her boyfriend but he is always working.  Oh the difficulties of the mission.  Life is good though.  This week was rough trying to find new people to teach.  We are working on helping the Branch become better.  We had 63 people in Church which is a record for this branch.  If we keep working with the ward members we can get more people to come.  My comp is really great.  If the rumors are right I will be finishing my mission here and she will kill me off.  I guess we will have to see.  I will be traveling to Tarjia this week.   It is a conference for the trainers, the ZLS and DLS.  I am not going to lie I don't want to go.  We will leave Wed night and leave Thurs night.  Oh well it shall be ok.  Um nothing else to exciting is going on.  We finally found Rosi.  She actually chased us down the street.  We were walking and all of a sudden I hear Hermana Nielsen HERMANA NIELSEN.  I turned around and there she was running.   She traveled to Uyuni and that is why we couldn't get a hold of her family.  We have an appointment with her tomorrow.  It shall be grand.  Well have a fantastic week family.  Stay safe, and don't worry the church is still true.
