Hola from Peru
Hola mi familia I guess first things first I will not be able to call home on Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas and while you are there in the snow I will be thinking of you in my warm summer weather :). I even have a little bit of a sun burn. It is pretty cool. Wow is all I can say to Peru. I am still companions with Hermana Morlock and now companions with Hermana Demke (who was in Provo when we were). Unfortunately we do not get latino companions BOOOOO. The Hermanas who will be staying here three weeks get the Latino companions because only 4 came in. We are in class all day except of course when we have lunch and the hour for fisical fitness. My teacher in the morning is a funny character. Doesn't speak a lick of English it is very interesting communicating with my Spanish. The Teacher I have in the afternoon took English in school, he likes to practice his English on us. I went to the temple today. You can only fit 25 people into a session. I didn't have a translator box and I said everything in Spanish by reading a card, yep I am that cool. After the Temple we went to a place called Totus it is like the super Walmart of Peru. Lets just say it doesn't have everything in it. Or we get to go to a place across the street from the temple that sells LDS stuff. We get to take the bus to the temple. I think that is by far just as much fun as a ride at lagoon. They are the craziest drivers here. A bus sees you and it will cut all the cars off just so they can pick you up and you will take their bus. I don't think they have speed limits down here. All the time on the bus you are just weaving in and out of traffic and they love honking the horns, its awesome I love the bus. It is very poor here and Hermana Morlock told me that if I think it is poor here wait till we get to Bolivia then I will know what poor is like. For meals we have to eat everything on our plates, we can leave nothing behind. My new favorite words to say is menos and pequeño. I didnt think to use that the first day so let me tell you I had a stomach ache. For breakfast they always have eggs, bread, and yogurt. They do have cereal but the milk is disgusting so we put the cereal in our yogurt sometimes. They also will put bologna in the eggs to switch things up blah. I love the yogurt and bread they serve bread with every meal. For lunch and dinner we have rice, meat, bread, and soup and only for lunch we get dessert. The meat is chicken, beef, or fish. The soup always looks interesting so you never know when to take it. Everything is really good sometimes the sauce is interesting but once you get passed that it is good. The Churros here are so good. They have nothing on American Churros, ah they are to die for. They told us that the CCM is the only place you can get clean water. It is also the only place where you can fluch your toilet paper down the toilet instead of throwing it away in the trash. I am very blessed here. Except the second day I put in my flat iron into my converter and it was working then all of a sudden it popped. Yep I am out of a flat iron. I don't know what happened, my converter still works though because I blow dry my hair every day. I did try to use my flat iron again but I cant even get it to touch the converter with out hearing a zzzz. I thought it would be better if I didn't try to use it again. I tried to look for a flat Iron at Totus but they don't have one. I bought Oreos and Ritz instead. Oh they are like mana from heaven. When I got here everyone said how much I would miss things. Boy were they right. I still have grandmas caramels she sent, I have hid them so I wont have to share :). Mean yes but oh well. When I need a piece of home I take one out and eat it, It is heaven. It is good to be here with Hermana Flores again. Man she is the funniest girl ever. To bad she is going to a different country. Well I am almost out of time so I need to go. I love you all so much, the church is true. Have a Feliz Navidad. Te amo mucho Hermana Nielsen (sorry the enter bars on the computers don't work, and they have all the Spanish signs on them so if I missed spelled anything I am sorry)

Hola
Hola mi familia,
Life is great and the Church is TRUE!!! Yes that is for sure. I received the package you sent. It came to me yesterday, thank you so much. One Elder in the new district that came in on Wed said I bet it is socks and I said I bet it is to since I asked for them. He gave me a funny look and said why would you ask for socks. He is also from England so it is funny to hear his accent while he speaks Spanish. Everyone has loved the cookies me especially. I printed off pictures so you will get some within the next couple of days. There is an Elder here that I think looks just like Mckord I see him every where. We are now teaching our lessons in Spanish well Spanglish. The people we teach though just speak Spanish. I just give them a confused look most of the time and ask them to repeat everything they say. If I can catch a couple of words from what they are saying I can get the jist of what they are saying. We taught the Peruvian Sister again in the TRC and again all she did was taught us. I think our teacher was frustrated that she did that. Oh well I think I benefited from it. She would say things to us and then have us repeat it back until we pronounced it right. It is fun and all is good. I still need to work hard on Spanish. Lets see what else happened this week....oh yea. Did I ever tell you that both my companions have boys waiting for them. Well they do and lets just say one found out this week that her boyfriend isnt waiting any longer. It has just been crying all week. Ah it is a mess. I dont think there has been a day that Hermana Williams has not cried. When Hermana Williams cries Hermana Morlock cries because she said it just hits to close to home since someone is waiting for her. It is hard I guess I wouldnt know since I dont have anyone waiting for me. It makes me wonder how the Elders take it when they receive a "Dear John". Oh well I will try and keep distracting her I guess. We went to the temple today to do a session. It was very good, we leave the MTC at 6:15 so we can walk and be on time to our session at 7. We go and do service in the laundry room after the sessions then eat in the cafeteria. The women in charge in the laundry room is from Mexico and always talks to us in Spanish. I think this was the first time that I actually understood her. Nothing else has really happened this week just the same ol' same ol'. Nothing changes to much. Oh about Peru we havent heard anything yet. Someone told us that the people leaving on the 14th have their Visas so I guess we will see if we go. No news is good news in the MTC, so until I hear something then I will be leaving on Tuesday and I will probably call you from the airport if anything. If I dont leave then you might just hear from me again here or my next email. That means when Hermana Morlock and I leave, Hermana Williams will be a solo sister until she gets her Visa lucky her. I dont know how she is going to do with that. Oh well life is good. Love you all very much

Hola
Hola mi familia,
Life is good we are starting to teach our lessons in Spanish and all I can say is I dont feel like I know any Spanish. I know the rules of Spanish that is about it. I guess you need to start somewhere right? I so need prayers for the language. This week we went to the TE and we had "investigator" who had a problem with what came up in church when she went which was the Word of Wisdom or WOW as I like to call it. She told us that she didnt think she could ever over come her addiction to cigarettes and coffee. We taught her the Plan of Salvation and focused it on the Atonement. We had her in tears, it was a very good lesson. Now if only I could do that in Spanish. The Elders in our District are getting sick. Elder Abbott first had a cold, then he had a weird rash on his arm, now he has mono and is going in on Tuesday to have his tonsils taken out. Elder Harris has a foot infection and the doctor said if he doesnt take his medicine that it will spread throughout his leg and then he would be in big trouble. The other Elders just have colds. I just laugh and count my lucky stars nothing has happened to me yet (knock on wood). I received my travel plans yesterday. We leave Dec 14 and take off from delta around 3 something land at LAX at 4:55 then take off at 7:55 get to Peru at 7:44 in the morning. We are taking LANCHILE to Peru and your carry on can only be 17LBS. Oh Joy, you can though have a small carry on. I dont think I am getting my hopes in on going though. Since the last time the gave us travel plans then told us we werent going. Plus they told us VISAS are not a problem when they told us there wasnt any room, but there was an Elder in our group who was supposed to go straight to Bolivia. He was here for 3 weeks and since he knew Spanish he gets to go straight to Bolivia. Any who they told him his VISA would come the next couple of days and he could leave once it came but I still see him walking around. That was a week and a half ago. I dont know how well I trust the MTC when it comes to figuring out travel. Hermana Williams still hasnt heard anything about her VISA to Peru. She said she is destined to spend the rest of her mission in the MTC. She said she doesnt mind if she goes to Peru or not. I talked to Hermana Flores who went down and she said that when you get down there you get a native companion. I hope I get down there so I can have that experience. Pray for the VISAS. I hope everything is well with mum she is in my prayers constantly. Hope all is well with the rest of the family. Tell my younger siblings I am sad I havent heard from them. Dear Elder is a wonderful thing :). The Book is Blue the Church is True and I love you :).
